How do you feel when a program starts sending you emails every day?

There's a lot of emphasis on "building a list" in some online marketing circles. The basic idea is if you can get enough people to agree to receive emails from you then you can profit by marketing directly to these people. It's not necessarily a bad thing to be a part of a list -- suppose, for instance, that someone you trust sends you regular emails recommending good info products and you like to buy such products. Making a purchase as a result of one of these emails is no different than making a purchase based on reading something in a blog. No one is hurt...in fact, both parties benefit. On the other hand, sometimes you end up on someone's list without really wanting to be just because you signed up for a GPT or traffic exchange site. Sites often make agreeing to receive emails a condition of service -- usually, this means you'll get emails related to the program. Sometimes, though, you'll get regular emails about business opportunities and other commercial calls to action. This has happened to me several times, and I have to admit it often makes me feel like I'm being spammed even though I agreed to receive the emails. Some sites send A LOT of emails like this -- I've even gotten as many as three in one day before from the same site! All this doesn't exactly make me feel happy about my membership with a site that seems to value me for my email address most of all. Is this a fair reaction on my part? What do you do when this happens to you?

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I do feel spammed if they have tricked me into their list. But, there are some lists I belong to that I learn something new everyday.. but those are the ones I joined on purpose. LOL
