Nirvana / Samadhi / Enlightenment means feeling happy permanently. To move towards Nirvana / Samadhi / Enlightenment we need to simplify our life. What is your opinion?

Just simplifying our life is not enough I guess. One needs to control all his senses. But in this present age of Kaliyug, this is very difficult. So the best approach recommended in the scriptures is surrendering in the feet of God and chanting his name continuously. That will help one get enlightenment and one will befree from all sins and be permanently happy.

rup011, once we simplify our like, take proper care of body, mind by doing yoga, pranayam, meditation, tai chi, and do conscious breathing and meditation, senses automatically come under control. It a process. Once we start liking nature our senses work as per natural rule. There is not need to control senses, it automatically does the right thing. Hence leading to samadhi, nirvana, enlightenment.

I do not think, its that easy. How can you control your mind? Thats the most important part. In India sages spend years and years meditating and then only few were successful in controlling their mind. In Bhagvad Gita, Arjuna said to Lord Krishna the same thing, that it's impossible to control our mind. If what you say is true, then there may be many people who just by meditating and breathing exercise have attained Nirvana. If they claim to have attained enlightenment, then ask them a few questions and check yourself, if they are pretending or have actually attained the most difficult thing called 'Enlightenment'.

rup, thanks for you valuable comment. What you are talking here is theory. Mind control is very very easy. We should know the correct way of living. We should know that cell phone is not all, expensive cars are not all, big house is not everything, such thinking should enter the mind. Nature is everything, once this point enter our mind path to enlightenment opens up.

i think niravana /enlightment can be obtained by many ways....everybody hav different mind n different thinking styles n also different natural powers....... so it cant be said that meditaion or bhakti is the only way for enlightment..... peoples should never think to get enlighten ....just ne natural in ur ways of life....n....we should become aware of ouself ..... friend what i hav siad is just imagination n thinking ....not experience......correct me if i m wrong......

According to Hinduism, there are 4 ways to reach God's feet. 1. Gyana (Knowledge) 2. Karma 3. Bhakti (Devotion) 4. Dhyan (Meditation) I think first two ways are very difficult to follow in this material world. To learn Vedas and other Sacred texts, we need years and years and its just not possible. In this material world, every human being is involved in bad activities directly or indirectly so Karma is also difficult. So only 2 ways left for us. Among them, Meditation is not a cup of tea for everyone, as its difficult to get time to meditate and also Human being is so busy in fulfilling his/her desires. I think Bhakti (Devotion) is the easiest way if we do it with heart. Lord Krishna said in Kaliyug, when people will pray me delibertaley or accidently, he/she will be free from all sins committed in past/present birth. And when you follow the both paths i.e Bhakti (Devotion) & Dhyana(Meditation), you would see the real transformation in yourself.

mdalia, I appreciate your thoughts. Yes Bhakti (Devotion) is the easiest way if we do it with our heart. I understand it. What is your experience? I want to know more about Bhakti (Devotion).
