In China, official is arrested after resident called police to complain water was leaking into his apartment
Police found boxes of cash when checking leak from Yan Dabin's apartment above
Ex-transport official accepted bribes totaling $3.2M for road, bridge contracts
He was given death sentence, wife given three years for money laundering.
Now I know that it is alot of money, but does anyone else think a death sentence is too much? We have politicians here who have done this and worse. THey are still breathing.

When I say the article I had to check it out on Cnn and it was there about the Government official that was keeping the money in an apartment that he didn't even live in. That is really something. Him and his wife are in trouble for that, what I would like to know is how the money got in the toliet or was it in the bathroom floor. That could have been the reason for the leak. I'm thinking that it was in the tank or something like that.

This is too much, but we are talking about a foreign country where values are different. Yes it was wrong for him to be fixing contracts, and to be accepting gifts of money, but I don't think this warrants him to be executed. Like you said, what about the many politicians that have been caught taking cash gifts. They were arrested, incarcerated, but still were allowed to live. This is an offense that can be corrected much easier than rape or murder. This person should be allowed to live as well, although he should be given a hefty sentence.
