I hate to admit it but it has become necessary to have bifocals to read with. I have the no line kind but I find that they just dont help me to read as much as I thought they would. I am thinking about investing in a pair of reading glasses as well. I have to have prescription glasses because my eyes are so bad. My reading glasses will have to be prescription as well. My question is:
Do you have bifocals in your glasses?
Can you see with them or do you have to have separate reading glasses?

I use to wear bifocals when I was younger. Like 7 years old when I got in my teen years my eyes went to where it was harder ro see far away then up close so I only needed glasses for far away and I was able to get contacts I was s happy. I am glad that bifocals don't have a line any more so if I ever need them again I won't mind wearing them.

I wore bifocals as a kid too. Got my first glasses when I was 10 and had to have bifocals.

My hubby tried the noline kind of bifocals and handed them back to the technician when we were still in the shop. I knew by his reaction that he wouldn't be able to adust to them. He went with distance glasses and takes them off when he needs to read.
I was told that I will eventually need bifocals for distance and reading. I have prescription lenses for reading only. The doc said I would need glasses for distance vision and may want them for night driving. I don't drive at night very much and when I do I don't seem to be bothered.
I have noticed that signs are not as clear as they were once upon a time. ~Sigh~ love the aging process.

You have that long arm thing going on too. A lady told me once you get in your forties its not your eyes changing, your arms are getting shorter, hehe. I have been wearing glasses all my life, I also wear contact lenses. I have been noticing my eyes changing too. I just can't focus close up, when I take my glasses off then I can see a few inches from my face. If I have my contact on then my eyes do tricks when reading small print. I do need new glasses but I don't want to ge bifocals, I will probably just get some reading glasses. I had a chuckle when I read your post, its an age thing. I have also been noticing I don't do good in the heat neither, I get so hot sometimes, thats an age thing too, hehe. Take care.

I wear contacts and my eye glasses that I do have don't have the bifocals on them. My mom has bifocal reading glasses, I believe, and she seems to do well with them. Talk it over with your eye doctor and see what he/she recommends.

I have worn contact lenses for the past...44 years. At age 39, I had to add reading glasses. Then about 6 years ago, my eye doc suggested that I try correcting one eye for distance and one eye for reading. Some people can't do it, but I did and I love it!
Right now, though, I'm wearing glasses - yes, bifocals. I had an eye infection and couldn't wear my contacts. I can't wait to get back to them, though, 'cause I think I really need trifocals for my glasses. The computer screen is at a distance that neither lens in my bifocals really lets me see clearly.
