Washed & Dried Cell Phone

My daughter could not find her cell phone so she called herself and still nothing. She tried to remember where she had it last. It was then that it hit her that it was in her jeans pocket that she had just washed and dried.
She went and took her jeans out of the dryer and sure enough there was her cell phone. Needless to say, it no longer works. She lost all her phone numbers as well as her phone.
We took the SIM card out and put it in another phone and that worked but she had never saved her phone numbers to her SIM card. She hates the phone that she has to use now but we just cant afford another one.
Tough lesson. LOL
Have you ever washed and dried your cell phone?

Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I can't say that I have ever washed or dried my cell phone, luckily. She should be thankful that you had an extra phone that she can use, otherwise, she could be without a cell phone.

No I never did that, she is lucky her SIM card still works. Maybe after a few days her phone might work again, its doubtful though, she can always hope. My hubby dropped his phone once and a car ran over it, lucky for us we had insurance on it.

Wow well so sorry about that cellphone of your daughter. Well I think she has learned her lesson on how to take care of her cellphone. Anyway I think that will teach her to become more responsible on her things not only her cellphone. Good thing you have a replacement for that cellphone as it is quite expensive to buy a new ones lately.

unfortunately happens often forget the phone in pants, it happened
to me the same thing, I dried perfectly with a hair dryer now works!

I've never had a washed and dried cellphone and I'll surely never will. Thanks for the info. This is educational for me because I tend to be forgetful sometimes.

I am lucky in that I have never done this, but my best friend did exactly this a couple of months ago. His girlfriend threw his jeans into the wash, and he forgot his cellphone was in them. Unfortunately it didn't work, but fortunately it was still under warranty, so he went in and got a new one just that afternoon.

I have dropped my cell phone in the washing machine before. TWICE! I never had it go all the way through the wash and the dryer though. I got mine back out right away. I immediately took it apart as much as I could and let it dry out. I took a hairdryer to it to speed up the process. It worked after that the first time. The second time it fried for good. My battery had gotten dented and when it got wet water got in the battery and it fried the phone.

cell phone in wash machine ... this was never happen to me
a lot of time's, cant count it anymore ... i forget some money, paper ... then when it gets washed it looks like its new ... did phone also looked like a new one :P
