easier to plan for a trip or to return home afterwards?

I personally enjoy planning for a trip, so it's really not a problem for me. But I realized that there are people who actually hate planning trips. Thus the question. However, returning home after a trip is another thing. It's always tiring to catch up on things at work especially when you see piles and piles of backlogged documents hungry for your attention. And of course, when you're having so much fun during the holiday, you will not want it to end -- I know I wouldn't. If I were still in school though, I will probably think the opposite. Your thoughts?

There's no question about it for me. Coming home is far esier than planning the trip. Now, it also depends on what kind of trip. I'm talking about a trip out of the country for 10 days - 2 weeks. Tha last trip I planned to Costa Rica got so overwhelming, I finally called a travel company specializing in that country to set up a driver and some in-country flights. I have to make sure we have everything we may need and then some for trips I plan my self.

Haha, yes, planning for a trip can be overwhelming sometimes especially when you have 0 idea about the place. But fun nonetheless, for me anyway.. Thanks for sharing!

I love planning for a trip, booking a reasonably priced flight, going to a book shop to get a travel guide book for the country that I am going to visit. When I have the book I look at the map of the country and its transport, especially its train routes it has any. Then I look at accommodation listings and likely prices. I go to a money exchange and get some foreign currency. I write a packing list and have an enjoyable time shopping for extra things to take with me. Then I have to pack my back pack, day pack and hand bag. Traveling overseas is my top hobby and I usually have a wonderful trip. Coming back home unpacking is awful and I don't enjoy dealing with paperwork that has arrived whilst I was away. I love seeing my family and pets as well as getting my photos developed.

Im none too sure that I actually enjoy either!!the getting ready to go is a pain, and lol there are so many things that you have to remember to take it frustrating!and then yes you go off and have a good time for a few days, but then as you say you come back to find that there is a lot waiting for you again at home and work on your return

I say that the easiest among the two is planning. I too love to plan trips, the who, what, when, where and how of planning trips are always easier for me to answer. I guess I just got used to this since most of the time its is I who is left with the task of planning. Returning from a trip is rarely the best part but then again its the reason why we have trips. I know returning from the trip also means you are at home safe, sound and secure, but still I stand by what I say when I say that its easier to plan.

Yeah, actually, I feel better knowing where me and my companion/s are going first hand. I plan mostly everything unless I'm going on a trip with somebody who is as OC as me when it comes to planning the whole thing
