What do you think about the single mother?

I think there are more disadvantage than advantage. You have to look after the kid yourself and you have to work. When other have a father to spent with during the weekends and you kid doesn't have one. They will start asking. The kid will be lack of love from both parents as you have to work to support the both of you and you may not have much time for your kid. Advantage will be you can do what you want and don't have to discussions everything with your partner. Things like how you want to bring up your kid, which school to goes to etc....

It's sad that there are single mothers out there BUT each single mom has their own story to tell. Of course having no father can have a long effect on the child. There is no father image. Hubby's nephew has no dad (he has another family now and never showed himself to him and his sister). The effect is, he is really shy and has very low self esteem. Even if his mom showers him with love and everything else. He has this aloof attitude that he has developed. Not much of a people person. One disadvantage I've seen is that the kid/s become very possessive of the mom. They do not want her to date again. They want all her attention even if they are old enough already. I actually salute Single mothers. It's very hard because you have to work and at the same time, be the mom AND the dad to the kid/s.
