The Fourth Estate says in U.S., especially in California, Government servants are being sent home out of their work because of shattering economy! Consequently they are rendered jobless. If your boyfriend or girlfriend happens to be one among them, what you will do? Abandon them? Try to get a job for them? Manage them?

Abandoning your friend because you lose a job is not a solution, the christian Bible says in Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times." therefore I will never leave my friend, that will a time of trials and friendshipness will be tasted through such a hard times. Although it will be a situation whereby many might want to quit the relationship. That should not be the case.

That's new to me, lol. What kind of weird publication is this Fourth Estate thing. Definitely not a reliable source of information, lol. Having a government job here in the US is one of the safest jobs to have. The only time you are send home is when the government shuts down because the legislators couldn't agree on a budget and without that they can't pay people or provide services when the term of the current budget ends. That happened before but is usually short term. The employees don't get paid in that period, but they are not out of a job. That is currently the case in California. The legislators there have to do that by Aug. 31st, which is the last day of their regular legislative session. If they haven't found an agreement by then, a special session has to be called by the governor. Until the budget is passed, according to an executive order by the governor, some employees are laid off (meaning, temporarily send home without pay), with others the pay was cut. He may even shut down all government. Once the legislators agree on a budget, they all can go back to work. Nobody really lost their job. It's incredibly hard to fire a government employee. You have to really not do your job or become a criminal or something, lol. Now, that said, the unemployment rate in the US is up due to the economy and companies downsizing or even closing down. However, people do get unemployment pay from the government. So it's not that bad. As to your question. If you abondon your b/f or g/f, you really didn't love them in the first place, did you now? One shouldn't be in a relationship just for the money and security a job provides, lol. The only thing one can do is to be supportive and maybe give some pointers as to where to look for a job and what to do. Manage them? That wouldn't be a good relationship either unless you have a superiority complex.

Abandoning a friend in the period of adversity reflects a mean and selfish motive and attitude.A friend in need is friend indeed. A true friend can be of immense help ,particularly in testing times.I will certainly explore all possible solutions for a friend of mine,if he/she faces such a crisis.

Well I think it would really prove how much you love your BF/GF. If you will stay there for him/her then good for him/her. But if you would dump him/her then you don't really love her at all.

I will never abandon my boyfriend if he happens to be one of them. I will try to help in finding a new job for him. I would never deserted someone i love because he is jobless. It would be unfair to him. I can be labeled a heartless girl if i will do that. The best i can do under the unexpected circumstances. I will lend him money to buy for his daily needs. I will take him under my wing if i had the capacity to do it. We shouldn't hesitate in extending our help to those who needed our help and assistance. Lastly, maybe we are the only who has the power to help them in times of troubles. Our help alone will be their guiding strength to carry on.
