I would like to know, how to make my personal computer reboot in safe mode? I mean, I know the procedure, but my computer seems to freeze when starting in safe mode. Why is that? Thank you for those who will reply!

Press F* key on the keyboard while booting Windows XP to start the safe mood. Use safe mood only when you are unable to start windows or have problem with software. If your hard disk has bad sector or any other problem, it wouldn't start in safe mode. Try check disk utility to check your drive. This may solve the problem.

Sorry for the typing mistake, it should be "F8" instead of "F*".

Try checking for bad sectors in your hard disk drive.

first off when you say you know how to boot your system in safe mode by pressing F8 on the system bootup and selecting safe mode. now for the slow boot up process. there are a lot of lines of items that your system is loading when your computer boots up and in safe mode it skips a lot of them and loads up just enough to operate the system so that you can troubleshoot the system. safe mode is skipping all those lines of info

Yeah right, but my problem is that safe mode does not load completely. It stays in the screen where it lists the programs that are loading. The desktop wont show.
