There is a small village near my countryside. There people worship a banyan tree. They believe that an Angel lives in it,who has been protecting their village from all natural calamities and enemies.I think its just a myth or misbeliefe. What you think? Is there any myths or misbeliefe in your area, like this? Please share friends.

My area no longer supports ancient myths that I know of, but every myth has at it's heart some truth. The Banyon tree (so I've read) is admired for it's strength and ability to withstand storms and adversity. Perhaps this is the base of the myth that an Angel lives in that tree. See what you can find out about the history of the village, what kind of storms or natural catastrophes have occurred around it that haven't harmed it. At any rate it never hurts to believe that an Angel is watching out for you, as long as you don't deliberately test said Angel

Remember also that these myths were started by a premative people without much scientific knowledge. I agree with another member that you shouldn't worship the creation, only the creator, but I find it fascinating to learn of myths and try to find what sparked them.

i don't really believe in that. there is only one God that we should worship. so religiously speaking it is my stand that a person should praise and worship God who is the source of everything. what you wrote is really just a myth for me.

Not that I know of. I don't believe there is an angel living in that tree. To me it's just a silly mis belief.
