What is the perfect form in this Society???

This question entered my mind as I was answering another discussion. In today's society what is the perfect figure to have for a woman or even a man for that matter?? If you are too fat, you are judged. If you are too thin, you are judged. In most instances, you are judged negatively. So you can't win. I get it all the time when I'm out and about from people who I don't even know. They whisper behind your back that you MUST have an eating disorder because I'm thin. The only disorder I have is not eating healthy enough. But I guess they are jealous. If I was fat, they would be saying that I was lazy and sat on my couch all day eating. These types of remarks can be hurtful to some people who would take them personally. I'm not one of those but it does have me wondering: Is there a perfect size in this society so you aren't judged by your outward appearance negatively? Does such a thing even exist? What do you guys think??

Well IMO the perfect form/body is one that the "wearer" is comfortable in WITHOUT being arrogant and snotty about it....that person could be a skinny minny or a heavier person, they could be a supermodel in the looks dept or not so much so...TO ME...it comes from not only within but also how one carries themselves ya know... As far as medias idea of it...who cares LOL cause lets face it, its been proven time and time again over decade upon decade that not only do they have no damn clue what they are talking about..but they dont really care any way since its all about the money LOL

but still be ugly if they carry themselves with no class and manners HA! aint that the truth!! I know so many ppl like that...ppl see them as these gorgeous men and women but as soon as they open their mouths or give someone who isnt "up to par" according to them that nasty look etc etc they become the most hideous beings I've ever laid my eyes on...i really can't stand ppl like that...Those types that think..truly believe they are gods gift to not just the human race but to the world in general...they are cold, cruel, snotty, demanding, shallow etc etc...makes me just ill beyond belief yea I dont get that whole media rules the views of the ppl thing either..LOL to me its about as logical as the government ruling ya know...Neither realizes just how much damage is caused by their narrow, money hungry, b.s words, messages etc are...sickening IMO..

Great answer! The media is all about the dollars but so many still pay attention to them. I'll never understand that. But you are the first one who mentioned carrying themselves as a good person should. I have to agree 100 percent with that. Someone could be very beautiful and "perfect" (whatever that is) according to society, but still be ugly if they carry themselves with no class and manners. Great point! Thanks for stopping by! :)

I think they think the perfect form is no bigger then a size 6/8 and no bigger then 120 pounds. I am one who gets made fun of because I am way off the charts of not being a perfect form, I wish we were only judged by our minds and personalities instead of just looks. Thankfully for some of us beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and they can overlook our outside faults for the goodness of what we are inside.

I get made fun of too hun! People are just miserable. But your right when you say that those close to us see beyond the outward appearance and know us as people and that is what matters the most. Besides, who could not love a beautiful green princess! :) Thanks for the response and thanks to you too Goodie for gracing us with your presence and the wonderful comment! :)

I think that a size 10 on a 5 foot 5 person is about the "perfect" size, as it is not really thin, so people are not complaining about how the individual does not eat or how they look skeletal etc, but they do not have excess fat, so they do not get that sort of prejudice. Obviously if you are smaller then your "perfect" size will be lower and if you are taller then your "perfect" size will be larger. I get the same problem as you, people assume that I do not eat, I had it all throw school and still get it a bit now, because I am a UK size 4-8 (American 0-4) and weight 7 stone.

Well, I don't pay attention for those things and the shape is not so important to me, and I have never judged anyone about his/her shape, what is important to me is the personality of any person and if he doing right things or wrong things in an situation. It is not fare to judged people for them shape if they fat or thin, we are all human and when I do such thing like that some people will judged me in the same thing I think about it. Have a nice day.

Ee have created this image of "perfection", and like it or not now its coming back to bite most of us in the bum. For as long as there will be people on this earth, they will judge and ridicule each other. human nature?

Well I think the best thing you can do is just be yourself.. That way if people don't like you it's their loss.. At least you know they like you too for who you are :) Have a good day :)

Hi Skinnychick, For me the perfert body shape would be the one each individual is happy with themselves not the sahpe society dictates that one should be. I am happy with who I am and that reflects outwardly no matter what size I am so for me its the shape and size to be, hope that makes sense. I have always believed beauty lies within, fat, thin, tall, short, we are all unique people. Ellie :D

We are all beautiful in our own ways. I should say as long as we have positivity in our lives. Those without that are just miserable as I have seen first hand. Happiness in your life plays a big part. Thanks for the wonderful response.

I don't think there is as like you say if you were too of either way then comments are made but if you were in between and you had a good figure they would probably find something else to comment! As long as you are happy then thats all that matters! : )

i think that the perfect form in society is something that is almost impossible to achieve, because for the most part, each person will still have his or her own preferences and viewpoints and it's hard to get a completely unanimous opinion about things such as beauty.

This is true as well. But I'm just trying to get a feel for what people think about it. Thanks for the response and have a great day!

We don't even have to bother who or what is perfect. The society that dictates these perfection is even far from perfect. It's just a matter of seeing ourselves as perfect creatures - meaning we are satisfied and happy of who we are inside and out. :D
