Do you swear a lot?

I never used to until I hit high school, but it wasn't until last year I started saying swear words in front of other people. I don't like to do it, and I don't do it that much. But a lot of people I know can't get through a whole sentence without cursing. Lol, it just goes to show ya how immature people can be.

I hardly swore at all until I started my first job. I worked at a restaurant and everyone swore there and I picked it up within a couple of months. I am pretty good at controlling my swearing these days but if I get mad or frustrated the swear words are like every other word or sentence so if you have small children nearby when that happens you are going to want to cover their ears! :o) I have been told I am a very mature person and I feel that way as well so I think if you swear it's not always a definite sign of immaturity as you state. But everyone is different and some people just swear because they think it's cool ya know? And those are the immature ones.

Well, I don't have small children, so it's all good :p I remember one time, me and my friend Jon were approaching this kid and we asked him something and all he said was a slew of curse words. It didn't make any sense. Lol. We didn't talk to him anymore after that.

I was raised not to even say a single bad or negative word, but as I grow and mingle with other people I learned to swear and say bad words and be affected by the negativity. Life is full of ups and down but my mom say when you are down today, relax and prepare to the time you'll go up so that you'll there a little longer than expected. I did swear when I was in college but not much in high school. But now that I am working and meeting almost all walks of life, I don't do it at all. I can even control my emotion to get angry in front of people but I do something to release it. Take care. =)

I don't as much as I use to. I use to all the time and my mom would yell at me of course I would reply well you do it, which was true but then I figured that I wouldn't want my kids to tell me the same thing. But, they just learned it from their friends so that wasn't a really good reason for trying to stop .

Haha, I've never ever said a swear word in front of my mother after she yells at me. I just do it in my head. Haha. It's better that way. I remember when I entered middle school, and the eighth graders were saying so many curse words I had never heard before. I was shocked! I never cursed in middle school, and one time, a seventh grader told me, "After seventh grade, you'll be cussing." She was definitely wrong. Lol. I was scared to do it, and when I did, my head would spin like crazy. It wasn't until last year, on the bus these two freshmen girls REALLY got on everyone's nerves. I kept my cool for a while, like six months into the school year, but one day, our bus passed a car accident and the girls were joking about it. Something inside me snapped, and I lunged into an empty seat in front of them and got inches away from one of the girls' face and told her off. I couldn't believe what I was saying because I was so angry at her. It was like someone else was in my body, speaking for me. She didn't say a thing though, she just smirked at me. I didn't hit her, but now that I look back on it, she could've thrown a punch anytime. Haha. Fighting doesn't solve a thing. And luckily, I didn't get into any trouble because the bus driver understood the situation that everyone had towards the two of them. That was the only time I ever really, truly, cursed. And I wasn't proud of it. But at least it got the girls to shut up. Haha.

Yeah, I have friends that don't do it and I respect them for that. Which is why I don't curse on a day to day basis. :) Have a great day!

I do not swear very often! Not now, I do not, as a parent I have to give a good example! My children do not swear much as it gives a bad impression.

My older kids did that, as their dad did not mind. Most of the time, if you let kids know that you do not like something, that is when they will do it all the time! Or if they hear you or see you do it, they will also do it.

It definitely gives a bad impression. My best friend's mom lets her kids cuss in front of her, even if they have company over. I wonder what goes through their minds. . .

True, middle school and high school are a big influence on swearing and such. The truth is, it cannot be controlled but you can limit yourself into saying it. If your parents restrict swear words in your household, use their values and it will help you even do better in school.

Oh, yes, of course. My parents don't allow cursing whatsoever in our household. I usually tend to say alternatives, like, "oh snap!" or "what the heck" Lol. I'm pretty good about it all for the most part. I just don't like it when people do it to try and look "cool" or whatever. Thanks for responding :) Have a great day!
