I recently decorated my sons bedroom and it looks lovely, well did, I went to put him to bed last night and hes only writen on his new wall. I was so shocked and asked why (while trying to keep my temper) and he said he had no paper and wanted to do some adding up, I was so shocked as he has never done this before, I tried to rub it of with a wipe and some cleaning stuff but am just gona have to re paint that bit. He did get the sums he'd written right LOL!!! My son is 5 so I would have thought this phase would have been over but obviously not, what is it they say expect the unexpected!!!

Hi. My son is also 5 and he did the same thing recently. I put up borders and stickers on his wall and then one day after getting home from work I went in his room to get his laundry and 3 of the 4 walls were covered with crayon (as much as he could reach with using his chair as a step). When I asked him why he did it, he said it was tracks for his transformers to follow. Then he went on to show me how it was possible and it was just so cute. The funny thing is he has a lot of paper in his room and said he wanted something bigger for his transformers road. I still haven't gotten it all off. I finally tried the magic eraser and it worked so now its just taking a long time because of how much he did.

Isn't amazing the things they think of! My son loves power rangers and transformers at the mo, I'm glad I'm not alone! Thanks for your response

Well, maybe he is going to be an artist or a writer! Don't squelch it, they have this great paint - you can use it on any surface - it is called chalkboard paint. You paint a wall or area of a wall and it literally turns into a chalk board! It is amazing nad so much fun! My daughater did a whole wall for her daughter and just had a box of chalks and she loved it! Everytime I'd go over there, I'd sneak into her room and leave her a messag on her wall and tell her to call me when she reads it. She always did and then she'd go write a note to me and wait till the next time I came over and watch to see if I read it! We had a really cute little thing going on! It is easy to paint over should you want to. My daughter rented this house, so when she moved, she just got white paint, primed it first as white over black needs a bit of help, but it painted just fine!

I've not heard of that before, I think it was more the point that id only decorated it a couple of weeks before and he'd put stickers etc up and it looked lovely and he was so proud of it and then he drew/wrote on it!!! Thanks for your response

Oh well, he was naughty no doubt. Children everywhere are the same…they will paint on the walls, put up stickers on the wardrobe, draw with pastels on window panes and what not. I used to be furious with my son once but no longer. No matter or shouting or threatening or spanking has changed him and it has made me all the more tired. So now I am resigned to the fact that only children will do so, not us adults, so what’s the point in trying to be logical.
