Names are very important to our lives. It is the identity that we bring with us wherever we go. We live by our names. If our names are pattern from a famous personality we usually live up with their achievements too. But we have nicknames or pet names. Most are from our parents and other relatives. But as we grow older, and we meet different people of different walks of life, these people that we meet call us different names of their first impressions and or what they see we are to them. I am short and chubby. So when I was in college, they call me bonsai or shorty. Though I am a girl its okay with me being teased. I don't mind. Its part of life. What about you What do they call you? Do you like it or you hated them for giving you such names?

Hi Bonsai, (I hope you don't mind, I'm just teasing as well). For a while After i fell sick a few years ago, a few friends used to call me skinny because I had become all skin and bones. Even now whenever they meet me they still call me by that name. I Don't mind really.

The first name I can remember being called is Sister. My dad calls me that. I am the oldest of 5 kids. I am the big sister. My youngest sister (almost 18 years younger than I) called me Terter because she couldn't say sister. She still calls me Terter sometimes. A penpal gave me the name of Wendy (he meant Windy. It was a joke because my letters were kind of short (kind of the way some people are called Tiny when they are big, or Slim when they are not). That one stuck. People still call me Wendy. Some of my good friends call me Goob because I am such a goof ball at times.

People would call me Gigie. That came from the first prefix of my real name. In workplace my colleagues would call me Ms. G. That's the first letter of my name actually. I just like it, it's true a person's name is the sweetest word a person could ever hear in the ears.

Everyone I can possibly think of calls me Money. Including my friends, teachers, parents, etc. Simply because I'm always about making money and getting more. Some say it's a good thing, others say it's not. I think it is a good thing because money is what you need in life.

In my old job, I used to be called 'kukiman' - at least that's how i spelled it, anyway, to make it shorter. Not because it had anything to do with my work but because of a sideline that i had: i sold food and i became sort of popular because of it and that's how almost everybody knew me. I first got the nickname because one of the first food stuffs i sold was oatmeal cookies, hence the name. I kind of liked it, i guess, coz it sounded kooky somehow or out of the box. the name really made an impression and was easy to remember. in fact, i miss it now.

In depends on the place I'm in. In my old town, they call me Pikes, a Filipino word denoting knee-legged, at home with my family, my wife calls me Tatay, to help my child know that I am the Tatay (Father) in the house, at school, I don't ask my students to call me Mr. Manuel, Teacher JP is enough... ^_^

LOL. that was so funny.. good thing you don't get pissed off by that name. anyway, I find "bonsai" cute though.. anyway, some of my friends use to call me LOT, CARLOTI, LOTTI, or LOTA.. those friends of mine who are so close to me and those friends of mine way back high school or college.. those who knows me better than I do. My office mates, my boyfriend, and other new friends used to call me CHARLY.. in the middle of my college, I change my nickname to charly.. I find it cute.. hhmm..when I was a kid, my relatives used to call me, OTANG, OKANG, KANG, KOKANG, TANG.. they change it when they saw me growing up.. I just don't want to be called that way.. I don't find it cute.LOL.

people usually tend to call me by my name. since its argentinian and very tipical, you will find it odd. It is Gonzalo. Yah, really cool here in latinoamerica. I havent received any pet name nor nickname cause I get pissed off too easily, so as my friends know this they don't put me any nicknames
