Has anyone else experienced fast heart rate and fainting during pregnancy? I am going through that right now. It has been really scary. After talking to my doctor and doing some blood work we found out that I am anemic. I know it is normal to do this because there is so much more blood flow in your body and also when I sit my belly pushes up against something (I can't remember what) and it makes my heart work harder, which causes the fast heart rate. and also because so much blood is going to the uterus my head goes with out and causes the dizzyness and fainting. At least I now know it is normal but it is still scary. I can't sit for a long period of time and I have to change positions if I do. Also I have to sleep on my left side and of course take an iron supplement. If you have experienced this also let me know. I hate it.

Yes.That's normal. When I was pregnant i normally have "heart burns." It's like a spasm in the the diaphragm which makes your heart feel heavy. As early as two months, I already started taking iron (ferrous sulfate), an iron supplement. I was craving for oysters so it helped me a lot coz it's also rich in iron. I ate a lot of chicken liver too which is high in folic acid (a vitamin found in leaves and liver, and which is needed by the body for the production of red blood cells). And the most important thing of all, you have to drink milk supplement. Milk is high in folate that maintains enough fluid that we need.

I am pregnant now myself. This has yet to happen to me. How scary for you. I already sleep on my left side. At least you know the cause. That is a good thing. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
