Why is it there is nothing quite as cremy as Belgian chocolate?..and reputedly is no too bad for your health either..low in cholesterol and rich in calcium and protein and full of anti oxidants which contribute to your cardio vascular health. But the whole thing is that its a luxury..Vanderwee chocolates are just something out of this world!!..but they work out around just over $2 per chocolate, which is pretty expensive. But as a special treat for a loved one ,well maybe then its worth splashing the cash.

Belgian Chocolates spoiled me. The mere thought of putting a Hersey's Chocolate into my mouth where all I taste is chemicals makes me shudder. While I may be a frugal woman, I do strongly believe that in many cases you get exactly what you pay for. Chocolate is one of those things. I recently heard about an ex-Pat Belgian who ran off to Switzerland and is making Belgian style chocolates there. I think my eyes glazed over when I saw the price tag though and until I've sampled one, I'll stick with my local shop that flys in new batches every day. Yum!

Buying Belgian Chocolates for someone is so luxurious and spoils them. Good for you that you spoiled your Mum! Every Mother deserves a little exotic pampering once in awhile.

yes you are right. belgian chocolates are the best chocolates in the world, whether they are truffles (little round balls) or just in a slab. I just love belgian chocolates. and they are so cheap when purchased in belgium. either in brugge or brussles. and they come in such lovely boxes with ribbons. i love spending time in a chocolate shops just choosing the chocolate truffles and discovering each flavour when i get home. they make for great gifts too. brands like neuhaus and godiva are simply the best. but they cost a bomb here in singapore.

I am probably one of the tiny few that does not actually like belgian chocolate! I do not like the taste of it at all. My hubbys nan, used to love those belgian seashells and we always used to get her a huge box of them for special occasions. I was bought some once but I just did not like them.
