So my family and I are going to Jamaica in November and my question is what should I bring for the staff at the resort? In Cuba I brough toiletries as they are a poor country and things like that come in useful. The staff really appreciated the items. Jamaica however, isn't poor and i want the staff to know we appreciate them making our stay comfortable. So what should I bring for them? Is money the best way of going or do we have things in Canada/North America that they could use?

Being somewhat in a lower income bracket, I cannot afford to go to Jamaica so I might not be the right one to answer your question. My feelings are CASH is always the best answer. I'm sure the toiletries were nice, but where does any Cuban go to need them? Money might allow them to feed a hungry child, buy a pair of comfortable shoes, buy that new outfit, etc. Therefore, I vote to give money & allow them to use it as they need to.

**Perplexed** I don't think you need to bring anything for the resort. I didn't when I went to Jamaica some years ago. Just focus on bringing items for yourself, and you've already mentioned some of the items you'll need. If you really want to give a gift, I believe cash would be fine. Still, not that sure.
