The Inlaws

Welcome to myLot, Newbie! I get along great with my mother-in-law. My father-in-law has been gone for more than 20 years. I have to admit, part of the reason we get along so well is that she doesn't speak English and I don't speak Spanish. We do have wonderful conversations, but it's really hard. We try to use the simplest words and try a word or two here and there in the other's language. For the most part, we get along because my husband and I have a great relationship, and that makes her happy.

I don't get along with any of my in-laws and I really don't care. They're worthless, sad excuses for human beings and if I never seen them again, it would be too soon. I haven't spoken to them in years, they didn't even come to our wedding.

I used to think that I get along good with my in laws until I realized that they are only with me for what they could have receive. There are good in laws and bad so I really don't focus on them. I make sure that my boyfriend is happy and as long as he is then I don't have a problem.

My ex in laws, I tolerated. MIL was very bossy, and wanted to take over and make decisions for you. I put a stop to that. Father in law was a rolling stone. My current in laws, father in law is great, not because he lives in Colorado and I live in New Jersey, he really is a nice person, his wife, my husband's step mother is not our cup of tea. My husband's mother was deceased before I met him.
