How do Open Marriages Work?

Not that I am at all interested but I am curious to know how the dynamics of an open marriage work? I read somewhere that Monique is in an open marriage. Wouldn't the two people be jealous? I know my husband or I get jealous if the other even looks at someone. What is that teaching the kids in the home. Any feedback?
