Breakfast: the most important yet most neglected meal

Philippines
August 6, 2008 9:13am CST
Here in the Philippines, having something to eat before schooling or going to work is not a famous habit. Most would just zip a cup of hot chocolate or hot coffee then would proceed to their places. Despite the fact that it is the most important meal, we Pinoys, never cared for it. Some would, but majority of the citizens don't. So, how about in other countries, do you skip breakfast meals as well?

Sometimes, bad things had to sweep us to learn great wisdom. And thank God, that you saw the great benefits of eating in the morning. Hope you'll stay healthy now that you're doing well in the morning meals. ^_^

I am Pinoy as well, and I could say that what you claimed is true for me. Maybe because I have the bad habit of sleeping late and then waking up late. Hence, I no longer have time to eat my breakfast. But I try to eat bread and drink water. The thing is I am not a coffee drinker.

I used to do that as well but after sorting out things, I was able to reorganize my life, set my priorities and specify important things that were usually neglected. I just found out that breakfast was one of them. Since then, I would see to it that I'll be having a breakfast whether it's a piece of pandesal or a cup of rice with tuyo and suka. Considering that I am now getting up sooner than my usual, I still manage to take a few moments to eat. Just try rehearsing it, you'll see, you'll soon make it a habit. And it produces great results as well. ^_^ Thanks for sharing.

I know the breakfast is an important meal and I won't skip it. Otherwise it's too bad that I work with an empty stomach. If we have more time, we will prepare a good breakfast. Sometimes we like to buy the breakfast outside because it's much more convenient. I love China

That is actually the funny thing here in the Philippines. The government has invested millions just to inform the public that working with an empty stomach is a bad idea, still, only a few fools would heed the advice.

I never skip breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day. Rather, my mom never lets me skip it. Even if its just an apple on my way to college, I respect breakfast.

There is a variety here in the style of eating habits as well jaypee. I think that a lot of people here in America skip breakfast because of the hustle and bustle lives we have. I am a stay at home mother as I might have mentioned before, I am not sure if I did. Anyway I do like to make sure I eat something in the morning. I usually drink coffee to get me going as well as my husband does. It is just better practice to eat breakfast.

Yeah, perhaps it's just a better choice. Probably, the sting of poverty here in our place caused us to be pre-occupied of how are going to deal with that caused us not to give breakfast its full significance to our health. Thanks for sharing. ^_^

In my country breakfast is also an important meal. I think it is not just any country but every country. Our human body needs the right amount of energy to start the day. Therefore breakfast is not a choice but most essential. With health and wellness so crucial nowadays, do read my article on how barley can help in healing and cleansing. Well, I don't take breakfast at all. I just drink my fiber drink and then loads of water 1st thing in the morning and then at lunch time only I will eat rice.
