You may not see much of me for a while

My computer is being a major butthead again, and I honestly think it is on the verge of crashing big time. Every time I get online, I'm on for about 10 minutes and then the whole thing just freezes up on me. I've done the virus scan, a full spyware scan, disk cleanup, and defragmenting and it hasn't helped one iota. This is what it did the last time it crashed on me. Hubby and I are going to get a new computer this weekend sometime (yaaaaaayyyyyyyy!). So if you don't see me around, you now know why. I apologize to everyone for not being here very much....stupid computer anyway! Lots of love and hugs to everyone............Carryl

Hi Katlady,
Hopefully a new computer will be the answer to your problems. There are so many things that can go wrong with a computer sometimes it is just better to get a new one. LOL Good luck and happy shopping..
Have a nice day..

LOL! Yes it would probably work much better without my foot attached to it. Hahahaha! I've been reading a lot too. But now that we have the new computer up and running, I don't see a lot of reading getting done for a few days...unless I can't beat the kids to it first. Teeheehee! Love ya!

Maybe you need to do a full recovery...you know, save everything and reload windows from the original disc. That's what I would do.
Don't be away too long ...we don't see much of you as it is... you disappear and come back, disappear and come back....

See? There's a reason I have my disappearing cheshire for an avatar. Teeheehee! I have a new computer now, so things are going much better. We're going to take the old one in and have the hard drive erased and everything reloaded so that my daughter can have it for her college stuff. Now I just have to find the time to take it in.....LOL Thanks hon.

That’s alright kat..you’ll be getting a new computer anyway so that’s really great!
am sorry about the old computer, maybe you can try and get a technician to check what’s wrong with the old computer, but if it’s more practical to buy a new one, then that’s great..it’s always happy to work on a new computer set. See you soon…

absolutely no problem. i enjoyed responding to your discussion..
and just like what you said, you can absolutely have the old computer fix for your daughter to use for her school works.. it's always better to have two internet ready computers at home, that way you can always log in and do your internet works anytime.
we only got one computer at home and it's really sad when somebody else is sitting in front of it for hours!!
see you around!!

Good day... Yes, I also think a new computer is in order. I think it's a hardware problem which may need replacing but also may depend on the availability of the parts and you may also end up buying a new one. I hope you can get the new unit as soon as possible. see you around.

I'm thinking it will be more worthwhile to get the new one instead of dealing with this one for now. Eventually we will have someone look at it and maybe erase the hard drive and reload the components. I just don't have the time or patience to deal with that right now. Thanks so much hon.

My computer was shutting down and freezing up too. But after my friend check it out we realized that the virus protector that I have on the computer was not working with the software and we have to delete it. I download the latest FireFox and the same thing happen again. It was not working with the AVG program and it shut down again. Instead of calling my friend I just delete this program and the computer is working good. Why don't you see if it is the anti virus program which is giving you problem.
I remember after downloading the FireFox there was a message telling me that it would not be able to work with the AVG and I didn't pay it any mind until the computer shut down. If it is not it and you definitely need a new computer I know that you will be miss.
Take Care.

Mine has been doing some crazy things too Katlady and hopefully hubby can figure out what the deal is for we can't afford a new computer right now. Oh well, at least it's working now and every then. lol Good luck with the new one you get!! Remember to use the back in time thingy just in case you have a problem again in the future. Most times it does help.

That sounds very unusual.
After all of the maintenance you have done it seems odd that you would not find anything.
I am looking forward to you getting a new computer so you can make some more great posts.
Thanks for reading and good luck.

It's done this before, and hubby had a guy at his work erase the hard drive and reload everything...and he did it all for free. It was like we had a new computer. But the guy moved out of state, so rather than fork out the bucks to fix this one we're opting for the new one. Then down the road we'll have a tech look at it and see if it is fixable for my daughter. Thank you so much hon. I can't wait to be back here more...I'm having withdrawals!
