I did many times before.Throwing a party is lots of fun, but being a party host requires lots of work as well. You're juggling the entertainment, food and requests from your guests. With a few well-planned ideas, you can host and still enjoy your party! Organize your party in advance. Work out the details such as the menu, drinks, seating and activities and have a structured plan to ensure things are well put together once guests arrive. This way, you can actually enjoy your party.Great each guest as they arrive so they feel comfortable and welcomed. Take their coats and show them where to place anything they might have brought with them. Show your guests to the food and drink area. If it is a more formal get together, offer each of your guests a drink. Show them around your home or facility. Ensure they know where the restroom is located and where the main seating or activities will be taking place.Introduce your guests to each other. Offer topics of conversation by including information they may have in common. Often, you are the only one who knows each of your guests and their interests.Monitor the food and drinks and keep supplies such as napkins, cups and other tableware stocked. Have a conversation with each guest and divide your time among them equally.Thank your guests for coming and show them to the door at the party's end. If serving alcohol, make sure to have an alternative plan for anyone that may not be able to drive.

My husand and I hosted a small and informal party for some friends after we eloped last September. It was fun, becase there was not a lot of planning involed. We just did what we wanted, go what we thought we needed, inited everyone, and so it went. We had a great time!!!
