im talking anyone.. celebrity or not is there some one you look up to and believe in whole heartedly? i dont and i keep thinking that is weird.. there are a few people i think are cool/interesting but not to the degree that i think they are perfect and can do no wrong.. i think its unhealthy for people to assume anyone can be that way much less chose some one to be that for them.. like i always say "to have a hero is to see flaws" ie no matter what they will let you down in some way.. what do you guys think? if you do have a hero who is it?

My mom is my hero. She was strong enough to leave an abusive husband and move to another state away from her friends and family. She was strong enough to take on the challenges of having a son with downs and autism. The later putting up with me and my bipolar crap. Not to mention what she has been through in just the last year with my brothers brain tumor and my other brothers behaviors. And she keeps going doing what needs to be done.

My hero is and always will be my mother. No, I don't think she could do no wrong and I agree with you that is an unhealthy thought. I can honestly say my mom never let me down. She was always there for me and my siblings. I don't think anybody who knew her would deny that. She passed about eight years ago, and I really miss her.

Nope, no heroes for me. I am not easily impressed anyhow.
I am sure that some people do outstanding things for others, somewhere.
But as far as in my life, no, I don't have anyone that rises to that level.
I think looking up to celebrities or "stars"; using the term lightly there,
is just stupid.
It seems in the past few years when watching the news, everyone is a "Hero"
or it was a "Miracle". When it is normally just someone doing their J-O-B..lol

as sad as it sounds i feel that if i awarded some one with the title i would just end up waiting for them to screw up lol i have no faith in the good side of humanity.. or at least the concept that one person can be flawless in theirs

Well, you tend to become a little hard after dealing with so much
disappointment in people. I know that I have.
I am in no way pessimistic. I just don't put one person above another.
Everyone is capable of doing something phenomenal given the circumstances.
That is human nature.
I don't think it is sad, you are just being realistic.

10 years ago my baby sister was diagnosed with cancer. She was 9 months old at the time and for a harrowing 3 months we spent alot of time at the hospital. In that time I came to the conclusion that my greatest heroes are the Babies and little kids who go through cancer and other diseases and pull through...alot of times they dont even understand whats going on and they just bounce back so fast.
Other than that..my grandad and my dad are my heroes.

It isn't that bad, if you take your hero as a human being. Mine happens to be Representative (Dr.) Ron Paul. He is as honest as the day is long, but I fully realize he's human with all of the faults of the rest of us.

its good that you realize that he is human.. most people think their heroes are some kind of being of perfection

My hero is my mother. She has been through so much in her life and made it through. She has spent the majority of her life being a mother. She had me at 19 and now has my little brother and sister who are 6 years and 11 months and I am 21. She has always been there for me through the hard times no matter what she is going through. She has had to deal with som very crappy situations. And most recently we lossed my grandpa(her father) he was only 59 and it was very sudden. I feel for her so much. She means the world to me and I wish I could give her the world. My mom will always be my hero.

My hero is my mom because she overcame so much trials and tragedies in her life. Her mom passed away when she was just 7 months old and she had to put up with a mean stepmother. Her father was murdered on her 26th birthday. My dad was murdered when we were little kids and it brought about so many problems. There were 4 of us, the eldest being 10,second 7, I was 5, youngest was 1 year old.She didn't remarry and she raised us all by herself. Up to now she continues to be there for us all and she is also supporting the families of those who worked with us.For me, my Mom can aptly be called a hero.

Hi there..
I do not have a set hero :D I think the best way I can explain this is by saying I have multiple people I look up to..
But the one I look up to the most, has to be my grandfather..
I don't know why, well he passed away now.. A few years ago it happened.. And since then I look up to him, or at least try to follow what he always said to me.. To be a good person and don't try to lie...
Have a good day..

Hi there would just like to announce this is my first post since coming back to Mylot after some time away, thought I would come and see if it would be worth doing and hoping it shall.
Anyway being a hero is a very different thing to different people and so for me to say one person is my hero would be to say that I have only been deeply influenced by one person.
I live in the UK(a hint as to where these people all come from) and so heroes of mine would be Duncan Bannatyne and Richard Branson for their deeply varying ways of entrepreneurialism that have led them from where they once were to where they are today, footballers (soccer players) like Alan Shearer since he played the position I most liked and Peter Crouch funnily enough due to the fact that he gets a lot of stick and just puts up with it and gets on with it even when times are hard which I think is a good lesson to learn, but he teaches another valuable lesson that if your not enjoying it move on to somewhere you can.
There are probably far more worthy people of my appreciation or whom I should follow more and admire more but I think it should be that you can have a hero and not worry about whether they are really worthy or whatever or else everyone would have the same ones and they would always be a) your mother b) your father and c) everyone thats charitable.
