Do you mind eating your child's leftovers?

I don't like wasting. However, I don't like eating my child's leftovers anyway. I know some parents don't mind it at all. But somewhat I can't do it yet.

i eat their leftovers alllllll the time.... normally, i wait until they have all 'finished' eating before i start eating myself.. just to see if there is any leftovers, first. especially when we eat out.. the restaurants normally dont serve small portions so.. we would order one less dish - because we know the younger ones will not finish their dish... but if they do.. we just order another for mommy...

i think it is a good idea that we should eat the leftover of our child bez we dont know about the mood of the child if the child is in good mod then they eat the food properly and with enjoy but if they are not in good mood then they spoil the food

I guess it depends what it is and what damage they have done to it. If they've barely touched it then I will finish it sometimes. If we are at home I won't, but out somewhere I feel bad if my kids waste food they are given so I make sure that it doesn't go to waste. Unless they've really gone nuts on it and destroyed it or something then I'll just throw it away.

Usually the leftovers look in mess from the little children

There is no question of minding it,when we eat leftover by our kids. They really do not how expensive are the food items. They cannot assess what wastage costs to us and as a whole to the society. So to compensate their foolies, we eat whatever leftovers are there, either we are hungry or not.

This is one question that will need to wait a for an answer. Still waiting for a child to come a long before I can be sure of an answer. Heh heh heh... why is it you do not like to eat your child's leftover? It is still food, no?

I see I see. Yeah, kids can make quite a mess sometimes. Especially when they are playing with the food rather than eating it. But if you were to feed them, then the chances of them messing up the food is less.

After the baby messed up with his food, it looked ugly and this is why I didn't want to eat it.

woo, a challengable question to me. i guess i would not by now. since i don't actually have a kid, and it's too early to say. but, if it is a piece of cheese or ice cream, or cream cake, i'd love to.

When my children are at the age of a year and two or in the time that they still do not know how to eat their food by themselves then yes I do eat the leftover food for I am sure that my children are not playing with it and for sure that it is still clean but if they do eat by themselves already No i never did but either I am teaching them to put food in the plate for them enough that they could only handle to eat rather than throwing food in the garbage......

No, I don't mind. I've never had to do it with my older son because he used to (and still does) finish everything on his plate. But if and when he leaves anything I don't mind finishing it. I don't like to waste anything especially if it is something I like. I do the same with my younger son too.

I give them to my husband :) he does not mind so much.... either that or I will wrap it up for later. Usually I do not give them more than they can eat - I figure if I give a small amount then they can decide if they want more.... that is easier than having to deal with their dredgings if I have given too much.

No problems for me.. after all they are kids.. in fact my parents would dump nearly twice the food that i could eat in my plate.. so that when i finish eating.. i will eat that much i can.. to the full.... and they pretend to be so magnanimous with me.. allowing me to leave.."OKAY..ok..you go.. i will eat the remaining food.. (my mom's voice)and certainly i did not know this idea of them for a very long time.. lol.. of course these are reminances of my undying memoirs of the childhood.

I don't mind eating any family member's left over... I try in first place , this does not happen.I give them the example of those people , who are dying of hunger... And if this happens I NEVER LET IT GO IN WASTE

I'm one of those who do. I don't find it dirty and it actually taught my child not to have left-overs. Cause I don't show a friendly face whenever he does that.

Most of the time I do not have a problem with eating my kids leftovers. There are times though that they make it gross enough that I do not mind wasting it so much. If they play with it a whole lot then it is not something that I am going to be willing to eat.

I can see that most parents here are still willing to finish kids' leftovers.
