Favre traded...will Rogers succeed in Green Bay?

Tough question to answer. No one knows what he can do yet. Favre put him in a bad situation, though. Now every bad thing he does will have Packer fans complaining that they should have kept Favre...especially if Favre succeeds with the Jets

I don't except Rogers do all that good his first year. It would be nice if played like he did in that Dallas game last year. I think he'll do pretty good though. He has a lot of good recievers. To the Packers don't play the Jets this year.

I still have a feeling that the packers just might make it to the playoffs though. One thing that it would nice if they did; is to show everyone that Farve wasn't the only reason they won those 13 games last year.

Last year, Favre said that the Green Bay team was the best one that he had played on. Now Rogers gets to play with that talent. We'll see. I don't think Rogers is as bad as everyone thinks.

I don't think that Rodgers will do that well either. Last year GreenBay was lucky to make it as far as they did. Favre played a big part in that, having one of his best years. I can't see them doing better than 8-8 (which might be enough in that sink division of theirs!)

It is definitely a tough question my friend and you are right no one knows what he is capable of as of yet,and I agree Favre did put him in a bad situation, and yeah every bad thing he does will have them complaining that they should have kept Favre, especially if Favre does succeed in his career with the Jets, but I think Rogers will surprise everyone and might even do a better job than Favre every did.

True statement there. If Rogers is decent, they have a shot. If he is good, they have a really good shot.

Yep, I think Rogers will do okay. He's just in a no win situation and I think he will leave GB as a free agent at the end of the season.

Rogers had big shoes to fill even before the Favre fiasco. I hope he does succeed. He was definitely put in a tough situation by both Favre and the Packers. I think both sides handled the situation poorly with Rogers stuck in the middle. I have been a Packers/Favre fan for years. I am constantly being asked if I am going to switch teams because Favre is playing for the Jets. I hope he does well. I have always admired him, but I am and always will be a Packers fan and that is where my loyalties lie. So go Green Bay and go Rogers!

Good for you. That means you are a Green Bay fan, not a Favre fan. You like him, but he is not the team. He'll do fine in NY and hopefully Rogers does well in GB and they do not lose him after a year to free agency which is a very good possibility.

I'm so happy this stupid drama is over. I just feel really sad for the Packers fans who became divided because of this. Favre shouldn't have been so selfish and kept the franchise hostage and ultimately the QB position in limbo. He should have retired with some grace, now his legacy's tainted and now he's going to go down in history as the most narcissistic and selfish player to play in the NFL. I really haven't followed Rogers really, but I'm assuming since he was under Favre he should be good? And if the Packers are willing to start with him he should be amazing. Also, I bet you that once Rogers starts and if he starts out bad, Packers fans will be yelling at the top of their lungs for Favre to come back. This could be a do or die year for McCarthy and the Packers.

Yes, Farve made this thing a mess. Had he just retired it would not be a problem. I don't think that anything Rogers does will be good enough because everyone will still say, "We could have still had Brett."

man, there's so much pressure on Rogers, one interception in his first game and the Packers fans will be screaming for Brett to come back. Thank God this fiasco is over though, maybe Favre can benefit the Jets, a team that needs him.

This NFL football season is going to be one to watch!! I am interested to see what Farve will look like in a Jets uniform!! wow. But I agree with you, I feel bad for Aaron Rogers... every single thing that goes wrong will be his fault. That's going to suck so bad.. especially with Green Bay fans, because they are the most passionate fans ever! But I wish all the best for Favre, even though I do wish he would have stayed retired... because that last season was so remarkable for him! It will just be sad if he goes to the Jets and gets injured or just fades out as a "has been." I'd hate to see that happen to somebody so great.

I agree. This will be a great NFL season. Alot of the great ones don't know when to give it up. Willie Mays ended his career hitting under .200 with the Mets. Tim Brown ended up 3rd or 4th string with the Dolpins I think. Jerry Rice retired as a Bronco or a Seahawk I think. Micheal Jordan played for the Wizards.
