Immigration.....when is it a problem?

Recently I found out that a local school in my area was teaching half the class in english and the other half in spanish to make sure all the spanish speaking strudents could understand. WHY! Why can't the spanish speaking people learn english? Why can't the school hire a spanish speaking teacher for all the spanish students? Should the students seffer because the teacher has to divide the class into two different class so you only learn half the lesson in one day. I have no problem w/ other nationalities or races being in this country but i think the country needs to take the steps to prepare for these people coming into the country. I should not be made to change in my own country as i would not expect anyone else to change in their own

There should be two different schools. One for immigrants in their language where they should learn the native language of them and the language of the country where they live. Then they should go to the school of this country and continue their native school

This is a huge issue, and because i understand you come from the states this is a little bit different compared to EU, in terms of a multilingual structure. You know there are 2 sides of the story. One is that ILLEGAL immigration is the problem, both for the "normal" residents of the country, and for the immigrants because they are simply treated as slaves with consequences like high crime..etc..etc.. Without immigrants many people would have a problem of survival, we all know they do the dirty staff, for almost nothing.I get your point, and actually i do agree with you, sicne they go to a country, where english is the official language this is what it whould be taught at schools. However for sure there should be EFFECTIVE means of integration and easy transition.dont you think so? Besides US is the most muliticultural society of the plantet..this is what its nature is!So the problem is those that do laws and the symptoms you describe the bad results

I agree we need better measures in place to make sure we can accomodate the legal immigrant w/ out putting our own people out and at the same time combate illegal immigration so the legals are not frowned upon. The last thing that is needed is for a legal immigrant to be treated like $hit becuase somebody thinks their illegal.

I find immigration a problem in a few cases. 1) When immigrants come to America and completely disrespect its civilians. Living in florida i see cars decorated with flags of other countries and such. If you are so proud of your other country, please do us all a favor and go back to there. Its also a problem with the language barriers. Many spanish people are coming to America and expecting US to learn their language. If you want us to take the time to accept you into our country and give you all of our equal rights, then you must take the time to accept the fact that you are going to have to learn our language. Illegal immigrants are also a problem because they are living in our country for free. They are taking services that people have to pay taxes for and they never pay a cent.

This bothers me so much that it makes my blood boil. I do not mind other reaces or nationalities coming to our country. However, if they decide they want to live in our country then they should conform to our way of life. They should speak our language. We should not have to bend over backwards to conform to what they want. They choose to come here ... they should change.

intolerance is the main cause of conflicts, wars, terrorism etc etc... Besides english is NOT the first language spoken in your country, wheter ur from the US, UK, Australia or whatever country you are from....nor will it be the last... Why not try to accept that and find a lasting solution everyone can live with? And conform to your way of life? What does that mean....even among the ppl that speak english in your country i bet the ways of life differ as much from eachother as your opinion from mine... Would you think its ok for the government to force religion on ppl? Should it decide how we dress? What car we drive? etc etc Humans are not confrom...neither are lifestyles...we fought against nazi germany for a reason! Certain ideas should not arise in a healthy society...we are different and will be different! And that is a good thing! That we need to look for solutions so we despite our difference can coexist peacefully is no question but to blindly conform to society or expect others to do so is foolish and dangerous!

I think if every school in the world would teach englishor spanish as a second language language never more has to be a problem...that means in the english speaking countries spanish as an obligated second language, in spanish speaking countries english and in all other countries one of the two...problem solved, every one on the planet can communicate with every one...
