yellow star beside my name

Hi guys, i am just curious, now i've noticed that i have a yellow star after i posted a response, with the number 8 in it. Can you tell me what that means? I was surprised to see it but it sure made me happy seeing a star beside my name. In fact, i was really intrigued of seeing other friends in here, with different colored ones beside their names. I was wondering on how to get one beside my name, now i am so happy that i got one. Am i doing good in here, you know i have just beben here for 2 months. Thanks!

You rating:
(number in your star) is one of many things mylot uses to determine what you should be paid. So the higher the star, the better money you make.
How did you get the number you have?
We member get to rate each other's replies and discussions, by using the "+" and the "-". If we feel your post was a real contribution to the discussion you get a plus. However if you are abusing the system with one line answers, you get a negative and/or reported.....(so don't do that)
How high of a star can I get?
The highest the star goes to is a 10, so an 8 is purdy good for starters.
Things you can do to improve your star ratings:
1-write really good discussions and try to find something no one else has posted or at least not in a long time.
2-Be as descriptive as possible.
3-Be courteous to other posters. If someone saids something you don't like, just move off. It's never worth getting into a war over cause other's will rate you poorly for it.

Well mylot does not tell us what the scale is, users make different pay from one another. I may make less than others, and more than some. If you stick to the guidelines and stay friendly avoid conflict, you will do just fine.

You get a star when you reach 100 posts. The number and color are your rating. Notice the +, - and ! next to all posts (except your own- can't rate yourself). That is how the number is determined. When people rate you +, your rating goes up. - and your rating goes down.
A + should be given to all posts that are quality and thoughtful, and address the topic of the discussion, even if you disagree with the poster. A - should be given for low quality responses that just say 'I don't know,' or do not relate at all to the topic.
! is to report abuse. If a member violates the rules of mylot or is abusive to another member, it should be reported.
