How to add HTML links to the profile page?

I have seen many members being successful with HTML links in their profile pages. I tried many times to give some codings. But all in vain. Can someone please suggest me the right way to add the HTML links to the profile page?

i also was having problems putting some banners on my profile page, here's what i found out. i hope this makes sense to you. your HTML should look like this: note myLot won't let me put HTML brackets in this post, so i'm going to replace
