My grandfather is still an expert on fixing stuff at home. Electricity, plumbery and many other things! I have to admit that this is really a very good skill and if you are really into those things you can save lots of money. We have moved our house 2 months ago and just saw the importance. What about you? Do you like doing that kind of things or call for service instead?

My father does the same...he has that skill too, even my brother does...i think nowadays we should be practical to handle home improvements, when someone in the household can do it, then let them do the task. We know that money was too hard to find, and we really work so hard just to earn, so why waste money with simple things that we can do it..Well just spend the money for others important things...and fixing some stuff in our home could also be a good exercise and hobby... Happy mylotting...

well, there is no problem if he is not lookinf for things to fix all the time. my grandfather does that constantly. He never stops, looks around and if he finds something wrong just gets his hands on it to fix! sometimes it gets stressing :D lol

i'm not good with tools, but my sister is. there's always something wrong with our computer and she will fix it. but when there's something gone wrong like the washing machine or the pipe leak, we'll call for service instead. it is really handy to have someone who fixes stuff around. =)

when it comes to computer stuff, I also consider myself lucky because I doN't call service for the computer and just fix the problem by myself. Of course, if there 's no hardware burns or something like that. if that happens I just have to pay for a replacement of that hardware.

I'm not expert on fixing,if some thing was broken, usually i often call for serivce, they are prefessional than me,service is free when it's in date of fixing. If i can fix,i am ture that it will save lots of money.

We like to fix stuff on our own at home instead of calling for service. My husband can also do plumbing, carpentry, electricals etc. These is a way of saving money and spending it for other purpose. If we have the skills we are benefited by it, we just got to share it. Happy MyLotting!

When it comes to electricity except changing light bulbs etc haha id have to call expert in, as it could be dangerous. As for DIY and using drills etc, i do myself, i always did even when i had a man because id be waiting for ever for him to do anything around the house, so was far quicker for me to get on with it lool Any little jobs i can do, and painting/decorating what ever i do myself Computer ive ALWAYS fixed myself..And does save a lot of money, as they charge way too much.. In fact i recently had computer problem, but after fault finding it, luckily was only the PSU wonder how much would have cost to have got someone in just to tell me that eh hahaha.. maybe more then what a PSU costs to buy lol

I am a girl and yes I do. I have the sense of bliss whenever I ma near to a fixing tool or carpentry tools. I really want to be an electrician if not for my sweaty hands. I can change bulbs, manage to fix the faucet. As much as possible I don't call for service because some of them charge really high and some are risky and put your house into surveillance or sort.

oh yes. that's very true. In fact I would like to congratulate you because of your skills. many of the females wouldn't be interested in that kind of stuff they just would expect men to do everything :) I don't understand why they also doN't try like you do but constantly say we are equal (joke)

I always try to fix the stuff by myself, get it more damaged and then call for service. But man I can never resist opening things and find out whats inside
