Yes, this is true! There are hundred thousands and even billions of cars in the traffic there and they are causing the majoirty of oil consumption and the air pollution and even more!
I think instead of complaining about increasing oil prices (all over the world) we should use public transport more. Yes, it might be hard to get used to but as there will be MORE and MORE passengers who demand public transport they will surely try harder to make the service better for us. and this would surely be a scary thing for the oil companies, plus we would have done something good to mother nature.

Hey, is this possible? And moreover when MORE and MORE passengers demand more and more public transport will come into being and it almost counts the same.there are other personal problems too which will spring up.pleasing to hear but difficult to follow.

do you think it will really count the same? don't you see the cars around in the traffic and most of them are carrying only 1 person inside and if that person was in the bus you are travelling with, then that car would be off traffic and even traffic density would be enligheneted. I have been using public transport since I am a child and I am travelling more than anyone who only goes to work and back to home. but I still force my way into public transport and if you act organised accordingly to public transport then you will be able to use it realy. In the last 10 years I have been in a taxi only 20 or 30 times.

Yes,,that's true,we should travel through public transport.and should also try to decrease our usage of fuel..I don't know why people use cars to lift just one person,,that can also be done by a high mileage bike also. There must be some rules that a family cant have more than one car or something like this.If it goes like this the end of fuel is not too far.
thanks.
peace.

Small towns in Mississippi don't have public transportation. The nearest town to me that does have it is 30 miles away, the traffic there is horrid due to some genius deciding to wait till the university was back in session to start road construction on the main roads leading to the school. During road construction the buses are not even allowed on the road, unfortunately public transportation is non existant around here, but I have thought about getting a weedeater powered bicycle to go back and forth to work.

Some big car manufacture companies are so influencial that the government will consider their benefit when make policy. But the impending energy shortage crisis urge us care more about the public transportation, which can reduce energy consumption and polution.
