Today is our Practice run!
Daughter was up at 7. Dressed by 10 after. Eating and done by quarter til. (this step always takes her a bit. ) Now she is bringing me slips and a brush for her hair.. You get the idea. We have to be out the door and walking up to her stop at 8:15 am. I think we will make it, as it is 10 til 8 am.(central) Her 1st day is Monday. She is doing well. So have you practiced?

You'd be proud. Made it to the stop (yes we got the bus, 1 1/2 blocks from the house) with 8 minutes to spare. She even carried her back pack. I almost cried.

Oh, I remember those days. My mom always had us do practice runs for the last two weeks of summer. We hated it, cuz we'd be all up and ready for the day, with nothin to do.
My kids are homeschooled, so there's no need for that. But we did start up our co-op classes a bit early this year. SO I guess you could say we are taking it slow getting back into the swing of things. We really don't stop for summer though, just relax a bit. That way there isn't the need to retrain their bodies every fall.
Good luck, and hope your daughter is all ready for school to begin. Does she like school??

Our kids started on Monday last week. This is the first year we did not prep them for a couple of days before with having to go to bed early and getting up early. They are now all in the same school which we have not had in four years. They start school at 7:20am. That just seems to early but that is the way they do it here for high school.
I hope your daughter is all ready and anxious to go. Kindergarten is a fun age and a fun class. I wish our kids were back at that age.

She's such a big girl!
Best of luck to your little princess
on her first day of school.
Bet she's excited about meeting new friends.
My daughter is not yet up to
that stage, but soon will be.
We're homeschooling for personal reasons.
But she will still follow a similar school
schedule, only at home.

I don't think most people make practice runs before the first day of school. To my way of thinking, that puts you ahead of the curve. I hope you and your daughter have a pleasant trip to the bus stop and back. But, moreso, I hope she has a good first day of school on Monday.

My kids still have a few weeks left of summer vacation, but no we don't plan on practicing. We will have a bit of a different routine this year as my oldest now has to get up earlier for middle school, but the twins will still be getting up at 7:30 and catching the bus out front at about 8:30 as usual. The oldest now has to be to school at 7:30, and I am not a morning person... ew!
