And wait until you can find something that you would enjoy doing. Here's what I did, I was working this job and I really didn't like doing that job, so my husband he is working this really great job that pays him really well and we would definitely make it with just him working for now and me being a house wife and just waiting to find something that I enjoy working. On the other hand my mother thinks the decision I made was not a good one. What would you do?

some parent dont like their children quiting just because we dont like the job we have. sometimes it is much enjoying for me to have a job that i enjoy although it pays small. it is not easy to battle everydays word if you dont enjoy the work you are doing. it is like you are not achieving nor not learning anything if you dont enjoy the job you are doing. it maybe wrong for your mom but for me i agree with you. quit something you dont like then find another were you would really enjoy.

Being at a job you hate can cause serious health ailments. If your husband is willing to take full financial burden and you really hate the job that bad then you did the right thing. The only problem is you may have trouble getting another job. Employers look poorly on folks who quit without a good reason and another job in the works. I strongly reccomend you bone up your skills. Get professional training in an area of interest to you or seriously boost your office skills. Maybe take courses in business management or medical assistant. This way you can get a better paying job and tell future employers that you left the market in order to update your skills and make you more desirable to the work place.

trisha nava a job in the hand is worth two in the bush, keepyour job until you get the one you want than hand in notice and you are good to go. that way you will not be out of work at all and will not be penniless. jobs are scarce now out here.

for me i prefer to quit to the job i hate coz how can you perform your duty successfully if you are not on focus.. in the first place a person who can work successfully is the one who works in a great athmosphere.. a person who enjoys everyone in your working area.. the person who can motivate himself in a lot of ways by enjoying what you are doing even if your income is not that competitive.. so i prefer to quit to a boring job..

I was in a job that I hated and got fired. Actually, I should say that I didn't hate the JOB but the circumstances. The type of job was very demanding with long hours and, that alone would have been fine. But the work environment was toxic. I tried to stick it out because I really wanted to make it work AND I'd left a job to go work for these people. Well, it didn't work out. Whereas the job I'd left to work for these people was a job that I didn't like but I could have stayed there indefinitely. So, depending on HOW you hated your job the decision you made might have been foolish or great. In my case, with the first job, it was a bad idea (but I couldn't have known that) because, while I wasn't happy, the job I had met my needs and the work environment was fine. I got along with my coworkers, the atmosphere on the job didn't interfere with my ability to do my job, and I had support from my manager. Not liking the type of work was a minor obstacle. With the second job, there was no saving the situation. As soon as I realized what was up (about a month in) I should have tried to find something else, or just left. Because the end result was that 4 months after I was hired, I was fired. I should have cut my losses and tried to find something better.
