My local airport offers flights to Toronto and Vancouver. Which would you choose to go to and why? If you went to one of these airports and you toured around a bit where would you go?

keeping in mind that there are a quite lot of miles in between the two cities, it would depend on what you want to see. i have never been to vancouver, but it is right beside the ocean and very expensive (my brother in law lived out there for a few years). on the flip side, toronto is a very exciting city and there is plenty to see and do there (but not near the airport! lol) i live fairly close to toronto and love their china town, the beaches area (very trendy!) and the city itself!

China Town in Toronto sounds really interesting. Are the beaches on a lake then? Is Toronto cheaper than Vancouver do you think? I am sure Vancouver has got a beautiful ocean setting. Going to Toronto there seems a lot in that area of Canada but going to Vancouver there is a long distance to Banff and Lake Louise. Thanks for your superb response.

Well, I live in Toronto and I have to say it's a very beautiful city with plenty of wonderful and interesting places to visit. However if I could have chosen when I came here, I think I would have preferred Vancouver. It's even more beautiful - in my opinion - and to live in I prefer the climate there to the one in here.
It has, however, a higher cost of life - the reason why we haven't moved there yet LOL When we went there to visit we were in love right away. Actually hubby even had a job interview, but once we saw the prices of the houses we had to give up the idea:)
IN any case, to visit...it's difficult to choose, they're both worth. It's just a personal preference - to today I still miss living by the ocean like I used to before, so for me: Vancouver :):)

I would go to Vancouver. First off all, it has a really nice airport, mostly because they are holding the Winter Olympics there in 2010. The airport has a beautiful water garden that you walk through once you get off of the plane, and it really calms you. Vancouver also has great scenic views, as it is right by the ocean. Also, if you want to take a ferry or another plane over to Vancouver Island, it would be worth the time. The island is secluded, and there are beautiful views with mountains, lakes, and forests. Starthcona Park Lodge is a great place to go- they are nestled right between the mountains and offer kayaking, rock climbing, ropes courses, and canoeing. I went there this summer and it was awesome. Have fun wherever you go!
