Has your dog ever protected you?

Have you ever been in a situation where you dog was protecting you? That he felt you were in harms way and did something to show that you were being protected?
I had my first experience with my pup trying to protect me and I thought it was so funny. He is a 2 year old Chihuahua. We were at my boyfriends aunts house for a visit(the pup goes too) and we had all been having some drinks and his aunt and her friend ran over and started messing with me poking me, tickling me just silly stuff. My dog started growling atthe friend who was tickling my feet! His hair stood up and he growled. He had never done that before. Of course he didnt bite her and wouldnt. She leaned over to pet him and he stopped. But he didnt do this to the aunt who he knows only the friend he'd never seen before.

yes! When I was younger and has boys over at my house, and we were rough housing, or just messing around.. my dog jumped up and bit through my friends lip. Then about a year later the same dog jumped up and bit another one of my guy friends in the nose!! Only the second one needed stitches.. but it was pretty scary. My dog just thought I was in trouble, and was trying to protect me! She is a guard dog! haha

Ouch stitches! lol At least you know if in real danger she can hurt! lol

When I was walking my late Shandy (a Rottweiler) in the park one night. There were suspicious looking guys and Shandy kept an eye on them. She was always like this when she sense something. I took her leash off and she was cirlcling around my body when we are walking home.
