I have a question about the star with the number in it. Does anyone know what each certain color means. I'm was wondering; because I'm at 163 and have a red star with a number 9 in the middle, and I noticed other people have the same star and number, but they have a lot more discussions then I do.

What I was told...once you reach 100 posts you get a star although I have seen many with more than 100 with no star. The color/number have to do with how your readers rate your posts. You can rate discussions and responses with the little plus and minus signs beside each one. I never knew that before someone told me after I got my star. So, like they told me, be sure to rate the discussions you read and the posts you get. I don't rate them all. But I do rate the really good ones, or the really bad ones. I rate the ones that make you think and provoke good responses, usually with a plus. I rate the nasty ones or vulgar ones with minuses. Otherwise, the average ones, I just let them slide. My rating bounces back and forth, but it doesn't bother me because I speak my mind and if people don't like what I say and rate me with a minus, that is their right to do so. I don't give out minus ratings unless a post is really mean, nasty or the language is vulgar and obscene. But maybe I am nicer than those who rate minuses just because they disagree with me. I believe in the right to say what you believe, in a nice way, of course. So I don't negatively rate people's responses just because they disagree with me. Anyway, that is what I learned about the stars and the numbers. I don't know why there are those over 100 with no star.

I understand the part about getting a star after a 100 post, and the rating part. What I don't understand is what each color means. How do I know how people are rating me? Is there some place I can go to see how I'm being rated?

I think the colors have something to do with the colors of ribbons given as prizes....blue for first place, etc...but not sure. They may not have any meaning at all. But I agree with you. I would like to be able to see my rated posts and what and who rated them. I don't do vulgar comments or get nasty or insulting. But I speak my mind and I know that people don't always agree with me. I don't think that is a reason to rate negatively because it is our right to disagree. That is the whole point of this site...to speak your mind, and if you don't want responses that don't agree with you, then don't post a discussion. Because everyone is going to get responses that don't agree at some point in time. It's part of life. So, yeh, I would like to see the ratings info. I sure agree with you there.
