how do you give encouragement to someone?

i would say: close your eyes, empty your mind, take a deep breath, then thank the Lord for anything that comes freely to your mind. Thank Him for the sunshine that brings new hope, for the singing birds that remind you're not alone, for the trials that teach and mold you. So..cheer up and move one :)

It is really hard sometimes especially if the situation is something real sensitive like a loss of someone dear to him/her. I'll just tell him/her that this is reality and we have to move on. And I would always prevent giving false hopes as it would probably tend to worsen the situation for him/her.
We still have lots of friends and family and we should be thankful since we have them with us. There are lots of things to be happy about in our lives. Let's make good use of the time. God Bless!

I think cheering up the person is the best thing to do when a person is sad or just tired. Also happiness spreads when you share it and sadness lessens when you share it. Just ask the person to think positive and all will surely be well.
