I've just found out the essence of getting acquainted with an audio and video converter. Images and video from my camera somehow need to be converted or edited particularly for my projects. Do you have any recommendation freeware for a novice like me. Thanks in advance!!!!

Eureka too, I think I know what you need, try media coder from this site http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/ it free and it convert a lot of video and audio format. You'll find its crop, rip, trim, join tools very handy. Its controls are a bit intimidating but this one has it all.
