Hedgehogs???

What ever happened to the big pet craze centered around hedgehogs? I remember when I was in grade school and everyone wanted one. I even had one. But now it seems to be the hardest pet to find. I love them and wanted to get one for my son, since we can't get a dog yet. But to my suprise I can't find any in this city. It makes me wonder what ever happened to Sonic?

I don't know what is the situation in the States but here in Budapest, Hungary you can buy almost in every petshop. Of course they are the pigmy hedgies.
