about Laptop problem

my cousin have a IBM laptop.now its not working.everyone are saying its because of ram problem.even though i on the laptop nothing will be displayed.my opinion is that if it ram problrm atleast it should show IBM and then off.but its processor is working.i think its graphic problem.i hope someone will help me to fix it

When you turn on your laptop can you hear any beep? If so your RAM is bad. You will not see any display on your screen if RAM have gone bad completely. It may not be neccessarily the RAM problem, few cases there will be a problem wih motherboard too. In most cases it will happen due to moisture and can be fixed easily by removing the RAM and refixing it again.
