The ice cream I bought few days ago has all melted. My fridge is not cold to keep the ice cream. I don't know what is the problem. I have tried to adjust the temperature but it does not work. Now I am trying to defrost the ice, maybe the ice in the freezer is too thick. Am I doing the right thing? Please tell me,thanks.

Sounds like you need a new fridge. You might want to try calling a repair man to see what is wrong, but sometimes it cost more to fix then to buy new.

It could be any number of reasons why the fridge won't keep cold... It could be your compressor, could be the seals around the doors, if it's an old fridge, it may be the freon... Sometimes it's as simple as defrosting, like you're doing... There's a little airway between freezer & fridge, it might be blocked from ice build up...

If you have an older fridge that the freezer looks like an iceberg or a glacier has hit it up there yeah you definitely need to defrost it. Because the ice is blocking the vents for the colder air to circulate.
What I used to do on this to speed up the defrosting is 1. boil some hot water 2. set it in there while you shut down the freezer and then open the door after awhile. 3. Get a hairdryer if you have one and set it on high heat.
Good luck and have fun. I always hated doing it and have sense become spoiled with my new fridge.
