I prefer non-fiction books because, for one, my imagination is incredibly lacking. Also, I like to know as much as I can about our society and world and reading non-fiction books helps me do this.

I am the exact same way. I love learning and to me fiction books interfere with a lot of time I could spend in learning new information about the world, science, news and the list goes on and on. Thanks for your comment and I am happy to see atleast one person on the same page as me!

Fiction all the way. I like the imaginative state and creativity authors have rather than non-fiction, because fictions books take me away from reality. Kind of like films. Although, sometimes I enjoy non-fiction novels too, but I really have to be in the mood for them.
Have a great day!

I perfer fiction. I need something to take me away into a happy place. Many non fiction is about problems or politics and when I read I want to go dream of faraway things and be happy about it. I do pick up a non fiction book occassionally and read the news constantly.

                    Fiction hands down.
I read as a form of enjoyment, a way to escape even for a few hours from my normal routine, and I find that fictional books is a great way to go. I rarely read non-fiction, just couldn't get into it. But give me a great fantasy book, and I can read all night until the wee hours of the morning...

I like both. I have taken inspiration from fictional stories based around mystery and adventure for my own story ideas, and I really like that I can imagine what I am seeing as I am reading fictional stories.
Some people think that non-fiction books should not be read like a fictional story; instead, they should be read now and again like you would any reference book: just to look up a specific piece of information. I disagree though, as I can read a non-fictional book right through from beginning to end, and find it enjoyable!
