Lately, I'm hesitant to post a "new" discussion because I just don't know for sure that my topic is really "new" or someone in mylot community of over 30,000 members already posted it.
I have no clue how to get around this problem. Can anyone help?

                    Just use the "all categories".
Then you would know if your topic is new or just the old one.
Just enjoy myLot..

use the search box for your intended topic, it will show you the posts made on it. but still, this won't give you an assurance that your post is the first due to different tagging. at least you've tried to avoid duplication and in so doing, your post is made in good faith :)

First off all please use the search bar for your intended topic, if u aren`t getting any answare for the search u can post; if u getting some answers review the posts and if u aren`t finding what u want to post then start posting :)

DoubleB is right. I usually use the search bar at the top of the page to look for my keywords. Then I post. I'm sure glad that they gave us those guidelines because I wouldn't have nearly the rating that I have without them.
