What To Do With Blackheads...

I saw my niece just this weekend and I discovered that she has blackheads all over her forehead. She's only ten years old but she's recently started her period. I know that it's a common occurrence during puberty but I wanted to do something about it before it gets worse. She was told by another relative to apply astringent (Eskinol) on it but I think she's too young to use that. I'd like to bring her to a dermatologist though to have it dealt with by a health professional because of her age. What do you think?

Hi diutay, Yes I agree with you, take your niece to see the dermatologist first before using anything on her face, and tell her to eat plenty of fresh fruits and drink plenty of water also fish is very good. Tamara

I was very experimental in my youth and has learned a hard lesson so now I have to visit a dermatologist more often.

My son is 9 and is starting to get the same problem on his nose. What really works well is Apricot Scrub by St Ives. It is a grainy like scrub that really works on black head - you can get it super cheapo too. After cleaning her face an astringent won't hurt either - but it has to be mild or it will dry out her skin. She can also try facial masks, you can get them for like $1 at the store and get 2-3 uses out of a pack.

I've heard about that apricot scrub. I'll check it out. Thanks.
