when having your hair done, who has the upper hand you or the hair dresser?

Are you kidding? Who has the upper hand? SHE does, SHE has the scissors! Ya think I want to walk out minus an ear, or maybe two?*L* Seriously. I go in, set down in the chair and tell her, I want something up to date, something that will suite my face, and, something that is easy to maintain. She has control after that.

I have the upper hand on my hair NOOOOO Doubt. BUT!!! I will ask the advice on my hair dresser . Example .. I have been wearing my hair the same way for years .. I just lost a huge amount of weight and wanted a new younger look . I told her this the first thing she did was give me a few books to look at .. I took diffrent looks to make one .. for example Ilike the back of one head the way it looked .. I like the front of another .. then there was one hair cut I just loved and fell in love with.. I did ask her opion .. since I don't want to look funny .. withthe shape of my face she said .. honestly whe you are done dropping your weight then I would say yes .. but for now the look I told her I wanted would fit my face better. I decided she was right .. and went with the diffrent looks from 3 diffrent cuts I liked .. and I have to say I LOVE IT!!!!.. this girl has been doing my hair for over 2 years now and I do trust her judgment ..but I always have the final say .

Oh how I hate the parlor,and I only go if its really got to be!they just take over completely,they cut here and there and everywhere,and then you look in the morror at the end result and wanna cry,like you say they are always on top,the have the upper hand,and Boy oh boy do they use it,I just think if I can cut mine myself a little then thats ok by me.

I'd prefer to take advice from the hair dresser because I would never know what I would want to do with my hair. I am always asking them what they think I should do.
