Apes or Humans?

Scientists keep going on and on about how humans evolved over the years from the first form as apes. Now i know there are people out there that make you think twice about this due to excess hair and facial structure but they can't be serious. I don't believe this. Tell me what you guys think about it and if you support it.

"Scientists keep going on and on about how humans evolved over the years from the first form as apes." No, they don't--however, lying/lied-to creationists like to spread that around. Humans did not evolve from apes. First of all, humans ARE an ape species. Secondly, ALL ape species evolved from a common ancestor (which is now extinct), not from each other. That's why the other ape species are considering our evolutionary 'cousins' instead of 'parents'. "they can't be serious. I don't believe this." The whole point of science is that, unlike a religion, you don't HAVE to "believe" anything. Go look up the research yourself if you're honest about wanting to learn. Of course, if you're just going to dismiss it out of hand without making even the smallest attempt to educate yourself, then you're beyond help. Willful ignorance is a poison no outside force can cure.

Well, yeah, I believe it. I've seen the fossil record, I've researched speciation, and I know evolution occurs. Evolution is the reason for the varying breeds of animals, the different races of humans, etc. It's just a fact of life.

I honestly beleive that to be the case, and that we have ancestors in common with other apes around today. I am serious. why would I not be serious. it makes sense.

Welcome to myLot, heartbreaker. Our newbies are certainly giving us things to think about. Hasn't everyone seen someone whose face is really ape-like? In some cases, we don't even have to imagine it covered with hair, because they haven't shaved. Others walk a lot like apes, and have somewhat bowed legs and long arms. The ones that get to me are the ones who are totally covered with fur! Robin Williams, the comedian, is like that. Did they get interrupted on the path toward evolution? Are they there to remind us of our place in the huge scheme of things? Are they simply unfortunalt throwbacks? I'm glad I'm not like that. Maybe I should go shave my legs again!

If humans evolved from apes it seems to me that apes would be extinct.

that's not a logical train of thought at all. lets say we look at a small section of the canine world. sighthounds. look at, say, greyhounds, salukis, deerhounds and afghans. all undoubtably evolved from a common ancestor. all different. all still here. just each suited to their own purpose and climate. and we are a variety of ape, just like a saluki is a variety of sighthound.

You're a primate. You can believe it as much or as little as you like, but that doesn't make it less true.
