Hello, I own 2 pit bulls one is a 2y/o male named Merlin. and the other is a 6 month old female whos name is Ivy. they are wonderful dogs, they have never showed a mean side to them, they are great around my 15 month old son. but all are neighbors are trying to say that they are mean dogs and that we need to get rid of them for our sons sake. Well i just wondered if any one else had the same thing happen. or if any one wanted to share a story about their dog well have fun and take care.

There is so much criticism about pit bulls, bad owners and the media are giving them bad names. There is nothing wrong with pit bulls, they are perfect, family oriented dogs. I grew up around pit bulls and none of them ever bit. I still have pits and they're perfect. Look at Stubby, he was a member of 102nd in WW1 and really helped out a lot. Pit bulls will give their owners anything at their command. When the media today says a pit bull attacked, most of the time it isn't even a pit bull, it's a half breed or another type of dog. A lot of dogs look like pits. In conclusion, don't be afraid of a dog just because it is a pit bull. ~Melanie

Pitt bulls are nice breeds but some don't have good impressions to them because they are the breeds which starred the dog fights. They are really sweet and loving in nature. but try to research if their mother shows a nice attitude because for dogs attitude is hereditary.

I just hope that nothing happens to your child or anyone else. I'm afraid of Pit Bulls myself. I think they're beautiful animals but I would never have one.

My fiance and I have a pit bull and a rottweiler. People try to tell us we should get rid of them for the safety of our 7 month old daughter. I'm sorry but it is all in how any dog is raised. Both of our dogs have been trained, and never even snap or growl...nothing. Pit bulls get a bad rap. I don't care what kind of dog big or small, i don't leave my daughter alone in the room with it. I mean people don't understand that any dog can be dangerous. Good luck.

I had a beautiful pitbull once and my mom always told me that I should get rid of her. She claimed that she could turn any time. I never had any problems with her around any of my nieces or nephews or my own children. I think it is how you raise your dog not the breed of your dog.
