Here where I live, at the supermarket/grocery store they still give you the option of "Paper or plastc" but you have to pay 5 cents per paper bag, does this happen where you live, and do you take paper or plastic?

I live in Indonesia and poor that people here don't realize the danger of plastic. If I could choose, I prefer paper. Paper can be reused.

Hiya AidiaPropitious! I agree, now wouldn't you think they would charge for plastic and not paper? Weird!

None of the stores that I shop at charge for paper bags. I normally get plastic bags unless it is really hot out and I have forgotten my insulated bags. Then I get paper bags for the cold stuff.

Oh insulated bags? hmm that's something I have never thought of. Now wouldn't you think they should charge the other way around?

No. any place that offers both, does it for free. I prefer paper bags because I have more uses for them. I think I would even pay the 5 cents extra.

Cool, not here anymore, It depends how much I have plastic is easier to carry, I reuse them as well, don't just chuck the away. So sometimes i pay the extra money. Thanks for the response!

here where i live, we still get free plastic bags. however, some supermarkets have a BYOB day. most of them have it on wednesdays. i usually bring my own bag whenever i go grocery shopping. if it's a last minute thing, i'll just dump my purchases into my bag. i carry a big bag around so it's no problem having all my purchases inside. cheers ;p
