i was wondering because i also have experienced that before, is it possible to date with a guy/girl who is far away? 5 years ago i used to have a summer love, we hanged out for all summer and i was completely in love but then summer ended and it was time for her to go we decided not to break up until we meet again however after 2 months she said that she can not continue like that and decided to break however my opinion was distance barrier for love and i m still thinking like that, but what is your opinion u think that the person you date has to be next to u? or you might meet 3 times or something like that in a year however distance is not barrier to love? i m really curious

A long distance relationship is complicated and the further away that the couple live from one another means that it is likely they will not see each other very often. I met a lovely guy in Australia during my trip around the world. We met in a train in Queensland and began dating each other. It was sad leaving when my visa was about to run out. He came over to England a few months after I got back home. We ended up getting married but we divorced six years later. In our day we had to send letters and make expensive phone calls but nowadays a couple can send emails and text each other. However if a couple are serious about each other one of them will have to move to be with the other one.
I went out with a walking group and did much walking along coastal paths and in the countryside. I met a man from the other end of the country to me. We became friends and later started a relationship. We used to send daily emails and text messages as well as meet up every two weeks. I took a train on the five hour journey up to see him and he drove six or seven hours to see me. Then I moved from the South East to the South West and so it made the journey easier as we didn't have to go through London. In the summer we had a lovely time but in the winter we got tired and unwell. We split up and have stayed friends. He is now dating a much more local lady and they seem quite happy.

well i dated a guy from edinburgh and i stay in fife. i know its only across the bridge but i only managed to see him every couple of weekends. It was okay for a few months but we ended up splitting because of the distance. Some people say long distance is the best kind but i personally don't think so x

I would say that it might depend on each relationship and how much you really care for each other. I personally have had some long distance relationships when I was a much younger girl and they tended not to work out so well.
Of course I was a teenager then so I tended to be a little fickle and would sometimes just date someone who lived closer to me. I am not saying that these long distance romances can't work out. If you really love someone the distance isn't going to matter much in the long run.
