When I was still pregnant, I have already thought about what BC method to use. Abstinence was ruled out (obviously. saints are the only people in the world who can abstain from anything worldly. as i am nowhere near being a saint, abstinence was the first to be crossed out on the list (maybe it shouldn't have been in the list, after all). Two of the more famous BC drugs that instantly ran through my mind are the pills and the DMPA. I considered the pills, especially now that there are androgen pills (i think that's what they're called) which, according to experts, help prevent pimples as well as prevent the growth of unwanted hair. the biggest disadvantage of the pill to me is that i am a chronic amnesiac. i even tend to forget what everyday things are called, so how would i have enough memory space to remember taking it everyday? so the pill was crossed out. DMPA, for the uninitiated, is short for depot medroxyprogesterone acetate is a progestin-only hormonal contraceptive BC drug which is injected every three months. on the surface, it seems more fitting for me compared to the pill as it doesn't require everyday intake. problem is, i am deeply terrified of needles, and i heard they use pretty large needles to inject this BC drug. also, i have read three posts dated a couple years ago in mylot which did not generate good responses from mylotters. almost all of them have undesirable side effects like excessive weight gain, bone density deterioration and depression, to mention some of the side effects that i am highly concerned about. surfing the net, i found some pretty reliable sites which stated that DMPA admittedly has negative side effects, but it is different for every woman. some even do not experience any untoward side effect at all. so now it confuses me. for DMPA users, what are your personal experiences about the drug? what is its effect on you? and for those planning to use DMPA and have researched about it, can you tell me something more that wasn't already stated in this post? for all women, what is the most effective BC method for you? i hope you can help me out in here. and maybe we can also enlighten others who has the same worries as I do. :)

I like te depo personally, had no side effects from it, it only has to be done every 3 months so you don't have tp panic if you forget to take a pil due to having a busy day and it gets rid of the monthly terror. I liked it, it's one of the most effective out there.
