Have you been on any uncomfortable bus rides?

I travel on buses when trains are not available to travel on in a country. I had little leg room on a bus in Indonesia and the bus driver drove in a terrible hurry. He wouldn't stop the bus for a man to visit a toilet. The most amusing bus journey I did was in Samoa. The bus was full with passengers so people sat on each others laps. My backpack was on the floor and someone sat on it. Have you ever been on an uncomfortable or amusing bus trip? If so please tell me about it?

When I visited my brother in New York, he and his wife went with me to check the sites in DC. The bus ride was 2-4 hours. What made me uncomfortable and irritated was the other passengers from an asian country that kept on yakking using their language which was annoying. Aside from not being understood by english speaking people, they were very very loud.

Hey there, Well what can i say, if u travel in a local train in the peak hours here in Bombay u will forget all your previous experiances. Bus rides are slightly better, Iam saying that becoz its slightly expensive and its less crowded. Well i remember i was travelling to Gujrat by train ( a state in India ) and i didnt get a seat. It was almost 8 hrs journey and i was exhausted when i reached there. U wont believe it some people do that kind of journey almost every alternate days here. Cheers, Tutul

Dear friend, The most I felt uncomfortable bus rides are during my school days I used to go by private buses and that too at the peak hours of office and school time. The rush would be too much that as kid I did not have much height and most often in the rush my legs may not touch the ground of the bus as I would be travelling in air jammed between other passengers. After few kilometers I would land to ground. These were the situations when I had to travel during my school days. Later I started to come by school bus even though I had to wake up bit earlier. Still if I miss school bus I had to go back to private bus for a uncomfortable travel.

I have not ridden on the public busses here in Minnesota in years. But I have ridden Greyhound busses. These travel across the United States daily and are very comfortable. Air conditioned with plenty leg room as well. No smoking though which I hate as I am a smoker. The city busses most times are jammed and very uncomfortable i hear here in Minnesota as well. I drive myself as I hate public transportation. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I avoid bus rides as much as I can. Mostly because I have a tendency to get sick even in the most modern buses. It's not safe for me LOL I would prefer to walk miles and miles than to be in a bus and having to ask for the bus driver to stop or there will be a big mess in the bus. I get sick on cars sometimes as well, depending on the way the person drives, but at least in a car I can always ask to stop. But I've been on a bus in Mozambique where we were sharing with chicken, dogs, and even a goat LOL

buses are definately uncomfortable ! i use these often when travelling to colege or to friends house. i hate it when its an old bus this is when its most uncomfortable the ceiling is low the seats are uncomfortable or dirty and it stinks. busses here cant stop unless its a bus stop so the person has to wait if they want to go to the loo.. yeah when we at colege and every one gets on the bus sometimes gets so crowded people sit on each other lap or 3 to 2 seats. most fun times are actually when all colege people are on the bus some people are listning to music even playing cards and joking about.
